Why We’re Here

Nature Junkie is born out of a desire to help people feel more stoked on life.

Our Vision

Nature connection is actively applied as a fundamental pillar of wellbeing.

Our Purpose

We exist to catalyze the renaturing of humankind.

Our Mission

To bring awareness to systems thinking, inspire and equip people to activate their nature connection, share the science, wisdom, and radness of Nature Junkies.

Our Ethos

  • We are Nature

Nature isn’t just outside of us, we humans are part of nature. And that means it’s for all of us. Let’s find collective strength in this deep connection.

  • It's a Relationship

Our relationship with nature requires active nurturing and skills development to keep it healthy and vibrant. Let’s co-create this dynamic balance.

  • Let's Play

There’s so much awe and wonder to be experienced in nature beyond our rational understanding. Let’s enjoy the dance while we’re here.

“The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever.”

-Jaques Cousteau

Yep, I got hooked. I fell in love with surfing at an early age and have been a Nature Junkie ever since. Unfortunately, I’ve also noticed that as culture and technology move forward, it’s getting harder and harder to maintain healthy relationships with nature. I’m not anti-tech, in fact I love all that shit. And I also don’t think we need to go back to living in caves, not that there’s anything wrong with that. Instead, my aim here is to help us rebuild healthy relationships with nature, even within a hypermodern world. Call me crazy, but I think it’s doable. Nature Junkie is my attempt to help people rekindle that feeling of awe and wonder that I discovered surfing as a kid. Thanks for playing along and unleashing your inner Nature Junkie with us.

Enjoy the ride,

Jeff Johnson (Chief Nature Junkie)
